testing incentive

Dear Jacksonville High School Families

ATLAS testing is quickly approaching, and we want to ensure that both students and families clearly understand the expectations, schedule, and incentives during this important time.

This assessment is an opportunity for students to demonstrate growth and be rewarded for their effort and performance.

ATLAS Testing Schedule

  • Monday, April 13 – Reading

  • Tuesday, April 14 – Writing

  • Wednesday, April 15 – Algebra 1 and Geometry

  • Thursday, April 16- Biology

Students who score 1060 or higher on an ATLAS test will be exempt from the semester exam in that subject and receive 100 percent on the semester exam. Exemptions are earned per subject. For example, if a student scores 1060 in ELA only, they will only be exempt from the ELA semester exam.

Students who do not reach 1060 can still earn a reward through growth. Growth is defined as scoring at least 20 points higher than the last interim test in a subject. Those scholars will be rewarded with an on-campus incentive in partnership with GEAR UP on May 1st.

You can support your child’s success by ensuring they get plenty of rest and arrive at school on time each day. Students are also encouraged to use effective test-taking strategies such as reading the question first, using the audio feature when available, and taking their time.

This is an important opportunity for students to demonstrate progress and be rewarded for their effort. We encourage all students to stay focused and give their best.

This is a reminder that students will not be able to check out until testing concludes, which will be approximately 11:50 each day. All normal checkout procedures will be followed.

Additionally, we will operate on a modified schedule on Monday and Tuesday. The schedule will follow the Alternative Schedule: (5, 6, WIN, 3, 4, 1, 2, 7).

Thank you for your continued support. As always, Titan Up—and next week, let’s Level Up!
