The Fine Arts Department was on fire this past week!
JMS had four sixth grade scholars participate in ArkMEA Honor Chorus on Thursday, November 7, 2024. They were joined by over 100 students from across the state and presented an amazing concert.
On Friday, November 8, JMS was represented by three amazing musical students at All Region. After a rigorous audition process, these students were selected to be part of All Region Clinic.
Good afternoon, JMS families. We have a newly formed PTO. We are known as the TFO (Titan Family Organization). Being new, we need your support. We're starting our membership drive from now until we break for Christmas. The dues are just $5 per family. All money raised goes toward activities for our scholars. Please be on the lookout for the membership form to be coming home by the end of this week. Hi families. We are approaching our Fall dance this Thursday, November 7th. It is from 5 to 7pm; and we'll have concessions. Your scholars will have a chance to purchase $5 tickets on Tuesday and Wednesday, during lunch; and at the door the night of. Thank you from the TFO.

Life Skills celebrated the 50th Day of School at the Diner yesterday. 🎉 Scholars practiced a variety of skills across several subject areas including vocabulary, writing, math, fine motor, and a states of matter science experiment.

During this novel study, scholars researched Greek mythology, designed art work based off of someone from Greek mythology, created body bios based off of characters from the novel, & read/discussed “Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief” by Rick Riordan. (Part 2)

Another fun and exciting event that will be happening at JMS for Red Ribbon Week is the Fall Festival. Families can attend the Fall Festival to get information on opportunities for their scholar's future on Tuesday, October 29th from 4PM to 6PM. We will also have Trunk or Treat presented by our teachers and staff that evening from 5:30PM to 7:30PM. Come out and join us for a great evening here at JMS!
Next Week is Red Ribbon Week and there are so many fun and exciting events that will be happening at JMS. One of those events will take place during the school day on October 31st. Scholars will be exploring their drug free future in the 1st annual JMS College & Career Fair. There will be several colleges represented as well as speakers about different career paths and the JHS Career Pathways.

On Thursday, November 7, we will have the Fall Dance from 5PM to 7PM here in the JMS Cafeteria. Concessions will be sold that evening. Scholars can buy tickets on Wednesdays and Fridays during lunch. Tickets are $5 paid in cash only. Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 15 is the first day tickets will be sold. We really hope you will join us for music, concessions, and fun at this fall event.
