6th Grade Accelerated scholars in Mrs. Gates’ ELA class finished their “Percy Jackson” novel study. During this novel study, scholars researched Greek mythology, designed art work based off of someone from Greek mythology, created body bios based off of characters from the novel, & read/discussed “Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief” by Rick Riordan. JMS Fall Picture Day is Monday, November 18 and Tuesday, November 19. Make sure your scholars dress their best on these dates.

Another fun and exciting event that will be happening at JMS for Red Ribbon Week is the Fall Festival. Families can attend the Fall Festival to get information on opportunities for their scholar's future on Tuesday, October 29th from 4PM to 6PM. We will also have Trunk or Treat presented by our teachers and staff that evening from 5:30PM to 7:30PM. Come out and join us for a great evening here at JMS!
Next Week is Red Ribbon Week and there are so many fun and exciting events that will be happening at JMS. One of those events will take place during the school day on October 31st. Scholars will be exploring their drug free future in the 1st annual JMS College & Career Fair. There will be several colleges represented as well as speakers about different career paths and the JHS Career Pathways.
Parents, once again we are happy to start our JMS Titan Family Membership Drive this week. It will run until the end of the semester. It's only $5 a family. Currently we can only accept cash. We will be available Thursday during parent-teacher conferences to meet with you about this organization.

On Thursday, November 7, we will have the Fall Dance from 5PM to 7PM here in the JMS Cafeteria. Concessions will be sold that evening. Scholars can buy tickets on Wednesdays and Fridays during lunch. Tickets are $5 paid in cash only. Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 15 is the first day tickets will be sold. We really hope you will join us for music, concessions, and fun at this fall event.
